People familiar said OpenAI has received about $11 billion as the first tranche of a new funding round that values the company at $1.25 tln. The round could total up to $20 bln, with remaining funds expected in coming weeks. The company had earlier aimed to raise at least $30 bln at a $1.4 tln valuation but scaled back its target. In March it completed $122 bln of financing at an $852 bln valuation.
