U.S. equities plunged, with the S&P 500, Nasdaq and Dow posting their largest single-day declines since April 3, 2025. The Nasdaq closed 11.9% below its Oct. 6 record, entering technical correction territory. The Philadelphia Semiconductor Index tumbled 12.5%, its biggest one-day drop since March 2020. Aggregate market capitalization of S&P 500 constituents fell roughly $3 trillion.
