Syrian Transitional President Ahmed Sharaa met Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman on the 4th, calling for strengthened regional and international efforts to de‑escalate and contain the crisis and prioritise dialogue and diplomacy. Both sides demanded an immediate stop to actions threatening maritime security in the Red Sea, Bab al‑Mandeb and the Strait of Hormuz. Separate reports said Syria is considering, at Saudi request, providing military assistance to Riyadh amid an intensifying Yemen conflict.
