The IEA said in its latest report EU gas storage entering the 2026-27 heating season is at its lowest level since 2013, increasing Europe’s reliance on global LNG. To replenish depleted reserves this summer Europe may need to sharply boost LNG purchases, which could extend global supply tightness into next year.
