Official Israeli tallies show that with 88.6% of votes counted and turnout at 77.7%, Netanyahu's bloc is projected to win 53 Knesset seats, eight short of the 61-seat majority; the opposition is projected at 48 seats, 13 short. Neither side currently has the majority required to form a government.
