LME copper rose about 1% on Tuesday as a rebound in AI-related stocks and firm demand from China, the world’s largest copper consumer, supported prices. A stronger dollar limited gains. ING strategist Eva Mante said the AI-led rebound underpins copper on expectations that AI infrastructure expansion will boost demand.
