A MOFCOM circulation official said China’s wholesale and retail sector value added reached 11.1 tln yuan in Jan–Sep, up 4.4% YoY and 0.7ppt faster than H1, accounting for 10.4% of GDP. Since the start of 2026 appliance trade-ins have exceeded 100.99 mln units and purchases of new digital and smart products have topped 120.6 mln units. Jan–Sep retail sales of communications equipment at enterprises above designated size were 812.3 bln yuan, up 18.1% YoY; September alone rose 31.1% YoY, the fastest among 16 categories and the highest since June 2025. Retail sales of wearable smart devices and high-efficiency appliances continued to grow rapidly.
