Pakistani security sources said on the 17th Afghan militants fired without provocation in the Pakistan‑Afghanistan border area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, apparently to facilitate terrorist crossings. Pakistani forces responded by striking an Afghan border outpost and a military camp in the Ghulam area, killing several militants; the attackers abandoned the outpost and the camp was destroyed.
