MOFCOM told a State Council press briefing it held nearly 100 "Export to China" events over the past year to open channels for foreign exporters into the Chinese market. CIIE preparation has been closely integrated with the "Export to China" programme to boost international reach and leverage import-policy benefits. Vice Minister Yan Dong said the UK, Spain, Kazakhstan, Kenya and Thailand were named annual theme countries and tied into CIIE global promotion to match overseas exporters with domestic buyers; MOFCOM also ran targeted matchmaking sessions and roadshows in Egypt, Germany and the UK and coordinated these efforts with "Invest in China" and "Buy in China" initiatives.
