Visiting the Ashdod naval base, Prime Minister Netanyahu said the maritime domain has become an international battlefield, citing the Strait of Hormuz and Bab el‑Mandeb. He warned adversaries are threatening Israel’s Mediterranean waters, ports and shipping and said Israel will not allow it. Security officials have asked for more equipment; the sixth submarine has arrived in Israel and officials are seeking additional ships, weapons and other unspecified capabilities. Netanyahu said he intends to make Israel a global leader in maritime combat capabilities and to protect Israel via the seas.
