A magnitude 5.7 earthquake struck offshore waters near Taiwan, China (23.76°N, 122.87°E) at 13:00 Beijing time on Sept. 30, 2026, with a focal depth of 15 km, the Ministry of Natural Resources Tsunami Warning Center said. The center judged the quake unlikely to generate a tsunami; exact parameters are pending confirmation by cenc.
